About the Opportunity:
As People & Office Operations Manager, you’ll be at the heart of our team, ensuring seamless daily operations while fostering a positive and high-performing workplace culture. The People & Office Operations Manager plays a vital role in supporting Tanbark’s executive leadership team and fostering a dynamic, efficient, and people-centered workplace. This position is responsible for overseeing human resources functions, office administration, and operational support to ensure the smooth daily operation of the business. Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage all HR administrative functions, including onboarding, employee records maintenance, and benefits coordination.
Support recruitment efforts by posting job descriptions, coordinating interviews, and facilitating new hire orientation.
Assist in developing and implementing HR policies and programs that align with Tanbark’s mission and values.
Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding HR-related inquiries, fostering a culture of trust and transparency.
Maintain compliance with labor laws and company policies.
Support the development of a scalable hiring strategy and process.
Ensure smooth day-to-day office operations, managing supplies, equipment, and vendor relationships.
Organize and maintain key company documents, ensuring accessibility and structure in the shared drive.
Coordinate and schedule meetings for the executive team, tracking action items and follow-ups.
Assist in preparing materials for board meetings and executive presentations.
Support executive team travel arrangements and expense tracking.
Handle miscellaneous office-related tasks, including mail, deliveries, and insurance management
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Support Tanbark’s sustainability initiatives, tracking and implementing environmentally responsible practices.
Assist with grant proposals and submissions, collaborating with the executive team.
Provide HR and administrative support for ongoing company projects.
Ensure employee engagement through company events, team-building initiatives, and performance recognition.
Other Relevant duties as assigned
Qualifications
3-4 years of relevant experience in HR, Office Management, or Related administrative role.
Strong understanding of HR principles, employment law compliance, and office operations.
Excellent organizational skills with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft suite of products and Google suite of products
Excellent verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills
Ability to work strategically, efficiently, and collaboratively across departments such as manufacturing, human resources, design, and sales.
Positive attitude and ability to uphold and promote Tanbark's Mission and Values

Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership
Oversee the entire manufacturing process, ensuring efficient, cost-effective production.
Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance productivity, safety, and quality.
Ensure standards for product quality, equipment, and operator performance are met.
Strategic Planning and Growth
Devise strategies to drive operational growth, including process improvements that maximize output and minimize costs.
Collaborate with the executive team to create long-term plans for superior productivity and operational profitability.
Recommend investments in new equipment and process improvements with clear return on investment to support sustainability.
Team Development
Manage and develop the production team, ensuring employees are well-trained and equipped for success.
Hire, train, and appraise staff effectively while fostering a culture aligned with our values.
Build and maintain relationships with department heads, external partners, and vendors.
Efficiency and Innovation
Monitor and report on operating costs; address cost and labor overruns proactively.
Implement innovative solutions to streamline operations and enhance productivity.
Oversee the maintenance of equipment, ensuring schedules are followed to minimize downtime.
Customer and Stakeholder Alignment
Ensure customer expectations are consistently met or exceeded.
Communicate progress and challenges transparently with stakeholders.
Qualifications:
10+ years of experience leading operations in a molded-fiber production facility or similar manufacturing environment.
Extensive knowledge of industrial equipment, including pumps, vacuums, pulpers, refiners, robotics, and automation.
Proficiency in industrial electrical, plumbing, and hydraulic systems.
Strong understanding of data analysis, performance metrics, and business management software.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Proven ability to build constructive working relationships and exhibit professionalism.
