Tanbark 1 of 6 Benefactors of Governor Mills Maine Jobs & Recovery Grants

In a significant move to boost economic recovery, Governor Janet Mills of Maine has announced an allocation of nearly $6.5 million in jobs recovery grants. The funds are earmarked to upgrade companies’ electrical grids, signaling a commitment to modernizing infrastructure and fostering sustainable growth. This strategic investment aims to create job opportunities, stimulate economic development, and ensure a resilient and efficient energy framework for Maine's future.

As Tanbark swiftly expands its manufacturing of premium sustainable packaging derived from Maine's rich heritage in pulp and paper, it is set to utilize its grant to enhance power infrastructure at its Saco production plant. This upgrade is vital for accommodating the surging demand, enabling Tanbark to operate the necessary equipment effectively. The anticipated outcome is the creation of a minimum of 35 new job positions as the company strives to meet the growing market needs.
