Opportunities for the Future
Going up against the plastics industry and creating a healthier planet requires us to break down silos, create open systems, and collaborate at every turn of the corner. We get this and are committed to it.
So, last week, when we had the opportunity to visit the University of Maine at Orono and meet with the Advanced Manufacturing Center and Process Development Center to discuss joint opportunities, we jumped. The possibilities are countless.
Tanbark brings proficiency to advance what’s possible using molded fiber and the production capabilities required to replace plastic packaging; UMaine offers excellence in working with bio-based materials and a rich legacy of working with Maine’s pulp and paper industry. We’re both fiercely dedicated to growing innovation in Maine and creating more Maine jobs – and we’re better together.
This sets an exciting stage for local collaboration to reimagine one of Maine’s oldest industries to solve a modern problem.
